What it means when a man falls from the sky | Lesley Nneka Arimah

Lesley Nneka Arimah knows as no other how to dissect familial relationships, with tales that are sometimes shocking, sometimes very recognizable, and always written with a naija intonation. From a story about a daughter whose mom lets her fall in grocery stores so she can sue them and live of the money to the girl who unexpectedly has to spent a summer in Nigeria with her family and runs into trouble with her cousin. I especially loved the science fiction story that gave the book its name, about the seemingly almighty mathematicians in a world were grief can be calculated away; it could be the premise for a whole novel but Arimah folds it into yet another perfect short story.
